Plant Machinery

Matthews & Leigh has invested heavily in its own plant machinery. This investment has been imperative in not only keeping costs down to its business but it can pass these savings on to its clients. It also allows Matthews & Leigh flexibility and control over equipment on site.

Matthews & Leigh has a range of plant suitable for a variety of sites and job roles.

The plant fleet is comprised of the latest modern, market brand leading equipment.  All equipment meets the health and safety requirements and is regularly maintained by Matthews & Leigh’s own on site machine fitters.

The quality and reliability of the fleet drastically reduces plant down-time on clients’ sites, thus minimising the effect on profitability.  Matthews & Leigh’s policy of constant investment to maintain and expand all machinery is a commitment to clients that it will continue to provide efficient fully operational plant and equipment direct to their site.

Matthews & Leigh also has its own workshop, a team of wagon drivers and a plant team responsible for maintaining these high standards.

2014 was a big year for investment, on top of the normal plant and small tool investments the company has also purchased an extra 7 dumpers, 5 rollers and 10 excavators including ZX 210s,  ZX 250s and a ZX 350. These excavators allow the company to dedicate their  resources to the larger roads and sewers work.

A brand new DAF XF 460 tractor unit also joined the fleet, to pull the low loader which moves the large items of machinery from site to site.

So far this year the company has added much more to the inventory including 6 x Kubota U55 Excavators, a Hitachi ZX210 Excavator, the Caterpillar D6K Dozer, several new vans and a shiny new DAF LF150 7.5 ton tipper.
