The Grange, Audenshaw, Greater Manchester (COMPLETED)

This was  £3 million contract to construct 175 house substructures, drainage and external works.

However it hasn’t been without its difficulties.  Firstly construction of six metre retaining walls immediately adjacent to a high speed inner city rail line was required. This meant working closely with both Network Rail and Matthews & Leigh’s healthy and safety officer in formulating method statements and detailed risk assessments that met both Network Rail’s requirements and ensure that every risk had been considered.

This included the installation of special slew restrictors on the excavators to ensure it was impossible for the excavator bucket to come within guideline distances of overhead power lines.
