Holy Trinity Church, Bolton (COMPLETED)

Matthews & Leigh was awarded a  contract to undertake the groundworks package for a student accommodation development secured by Colbre Projects at Holy Trinity Church in Bolton.

The scheme involved installing a 650m2 power floated floor slab in a single pour, inside the existing church as well as new build extension works, which included:

• Augered Piling
• Reinforced Ground Beams
• Ground Floor Slabs
• First and second floor slabs consisting of metal ribdeck flooring with reinforced concrete screeds
• Drainage
• Main sewer connection – involving a road closure to construct a 6m deep manhole over an existing 900mm diameter sewer, with over-pumping to maintain the operation of the sewer during construction work

The project has been an interesting one, and required valuable experience and knowledge.
