Matthews and Leigh have another name to add to its Client base having been awarded a £ 3m contract to construct the substructures and roads and sewers on a Watkin Jones Homes development.

Works began in January 2018 and the main challenges on the site include large highway retaining walls alongside a watercourse running through the centre of the site.

The 278 works also involve the construction of a large roundabout and toucan crossing at the entrance to the site which is directly opposite a main entrance to Macclesfield General Hospital on Chester Road.

Notwithstanding the challenges of site topography we have also had to overcome numerous obstructions in the form of remnant foundations and piles from the old Territorial Army Centre
